What is an EASA Skill Test and Proficiency Check?

An EASA skill test is a practical test that pilots must undertake to demonstrate their proficiency and competence in accordance with EASA regulations. These tests are conducted for various types of pilot licenses and certifications, such as Private Pilot License (PPL), Commercial Pilot License (CPL), and Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL). A proficiency check is a periodic test that experienced pilots must take to maintain and confirm their skills and knowledge.

Our Role as Examiners

As EASA-accredited examiners, we play a crucial role in assessing the skills of pilots during skill tests and proficiency checks. Our responsibilities include:

• Strictly adhering to EASA regulations and procedures to ensure a fair and consistent assessment.
• Designing and conducting skill tests and proficiency checks that meet the specific requirements of the relevant EASA license or certification.
• Evaluating the candidates’ performance during the test flight, including their flying skills, decision-making abilities, and compliance with operational procedures.
• Providing constructive feedback to candidates to help them further develop their skills, regardless of the test outcome.
