To obtain a Private Pilot License (PPL) according to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), you must meet certain requirements and complete specific training modules. Below are the requirements and steps for the practical training at Dutch Flight School, with additional support provided by Pilot Coach.

Requirements:

  • Age: You must be at least 16 years old to begin training and 17 years old to receive the license.
  • Medical Certificate: You need a valid Class 2 medical certificate.
  • English Proficiency: You must demonstrate sufficient English skills, typically at least ICAO Level 4.

Training Components:

  • Flight Training at Dutch Flight School:
    • A minimum of 45 flight hours, including at least 25 hours of dual instruction (flying with an instructor) and 10 hours solo, of which 5 hours are solo cross-country navigation.
    • The flight training focuses on basic aircraft handling, takeoffs and landings, advanced maneuvers, emergency procedures, and navigation flights.
  • Support from Pilot Coach:
    • Pilot Coach can assist with other aspects of obtaining your license, such as planning and organizing your training and addressing additional questions.
    • Our coach is also available for individual guidance, even if you are not pursuing your PPL through Dutch Flight School. This gives you flexibility and access to expertise, regardless of where you are training.

Examinations:

  • You must pass the theoretical exams administered by the aviation authority of your country.
  • After completing both the theoretical and flight training, you will need to pass a practical flight test supervised by a certified examiner. This test assesses your ability to operate the aircraft, perform required maneuvers, handle emergency procedures, and apply your aviation knowledge.

Benefits with Pilot Coach and Dutch Flight School:

  • In-House Examiners: At Dutch Flight School, we have our own examiners, meaning you can take your practical flight test promptly without delays. This ensures you do not have to wait for external examiners, which is often the case at other flight schools.
  • Faster Training: Compared to other flight schools, you can complete your training more quickly with us due to our efficient private lessons. Our personal approach ensures intensive and focused training, accelerating your learning process.
  • Personalized Attention: With our focus on private lessons, you receive more individual attention and guidance, resulting in a better and faster learning curve. This means you’ll be ready for both theoretical and practical exams sooner.

Additional Information:

  • Training Duration: The full course may vary in length, typically taking several months with part-time study. Full-time intensive courses can be completed more quickly, depending on the weather and your personal schedule.
  • Study Materials and Support: Pilot Coach can provide additional study materials and access to question banks to help you prepare for the exams.
